Fall to the walkway or working surface

The employee had just finished moving a portable generator when they slipped and fell, striking an elbow on the deck of the dredge. This action resulted in the employee sustaining a closed fracture to the left ulna bone near the elbow.

Employee was performing maintenance on a v-belt and sheave assembly when EE's right thumb became entangled between the belt and sheave resulting in the right thumb being severed.

Employee was attempting to access the dredge via the skiff boat. He stepped over onto the skiff boat without realizing there was frost on the seat. Employee slipped on the frost and fell back and hit his head. This caused a laceration that required five staples.

Absorption of radiations, caustics, toxic and noxious substances

EMPLOYEE WAS TRYING TO START THE DREDGE ENGINE. THE SOLENOID ON THE STARTER STUCK CAUSING A SHORT WHICH CAUSED THE BATTERY TO EXPLODE. THIS GOT A SMALL AMOUNT OF ACID INTO THE EMPLOYEE'S EYES WHICH WERE QUICKLY FLUSHED.

Fall from ladders

EE WAS STANDING ON A LADDER WORKING ON A 988 CAT LOADER. A FOOT OF THE LADDER SANK IN THE SAND AND CAUSED THE LADDER TO LEAN. THE EE SLIPPED AND LOST HIS BALANCE, SLID DOWN THE LADDER AND CUT HIS CHIN.
